This certificate is designed for students that would like to complement their studies in music or post production with the knowledge and skills of advanced live sound production. Courses provide experience in sound reinforcement, broadcast audio engineering, and speaker system optimization. Students will gain valuable experience and expand their career options through working exciting and diverse live events.
Candidates for the Advanced Live Sound Production Certificate must complete at least thirteen (13) semester credit hours with a minimum 2.0 GPA. BS Audio Engineering - Live Sound Production Majors are not eligible for this certificate. In order to complete the Advanced Live Sound Certificate a minimum grade of C+ must be achieved in all courses.
Upon completing the Advanced Live Sound Production certificate program students will be able to:
1. Identify the social contract and professionalism expectations of employers and team members in a workplace environment.
2. Examine sound and its aesthetic and technical characteristics.
3. Examine and employ audio technology.
