Courses

PM 305. Medical Physiology I. 3 Hours.

Medical Physiology is the glue that binds basic science to clinical medicine. Physiology integrates cell biology genetics and the functioning of human organ systems. This course is intended to take an in-depth journey through physiology. It is the building block on which all clinical education will be founded. This course has been designed for Pre-Medicine students.

PM 306. Medical Physiology II. 3 Hours.

Medical Physiology is the glue that binds basis science to clinical medicine. Physiology integrates cell biology genetics and the functioning of human organ systems. This course is intended to take an in-depth journey through physiology. It is the building block on which all clinical education will be founded. This course has been designed for Pre-Medicine students. Medical Physiology 1 reviewed the organ systems of the Body. Medical Physiology 2 will cover how the Brain controls the Body. This is accomplished by the Endocrine System and the Neurological System. The Systems will be covered in depth. Prerequisite(s): PM 305.

PM 348. Neuroscience - Exploring the Brain. 3 Hours.

This course will cover the basic science of the Nervous System and the function of the sensory and motor systems. All biological knowledge necessary to understand the topics covered will be provided in the course.

PM 386. Pre-Medicine Seminar. 3 Hours.

This seminar course introduces students enrolled in the Pre-Medicine program to the expectations for admission to medical school, including the application process, entrance examination requirements, and financial considerations. In this course, students develop a personalized medical school application timeline, write an application essay, participate in a mock interview, and prepare an MCAT study plan with support and feedback from instructors, peers, and guest lecturers. Prerequisite(s): Major=BS Pre-Medicine and ( College Level=Sophomore or College Level=Junior or College Level=Senior).

PM 387. MCAT Seminar I. 3 Hours.

This course is designed to complete the academic preparation for the MCAT and provide critical experience in taking it and answering the questions. The course will enable students to achieve the highest score on the test while also teaching them professional skills in taking standardized tests, which are a cornerstone of progressing in a medical career. Prerequisite(s): CH 288 and CX 288 and College Level=Junior.

PM 388. MCAT Seminar II. 3 Hours.
